Personalised Exercise Program:
I have my own personal exercise program designed & supervised by a variety of very competent & qualified instructors. A couple of years ago, I suffered from sciatica/lower back pain. In consultation with the resident physiotherapists, my program was modified to include a lot of stretching & Pilates exercises. This resulted in rapid improvement in strength, balance & living pain-free.
Living Longer, Living Stronger (evidence based progressive strength training and exercise program for the over 50s)

Happy anonymous gym member:Access to on-site physiotherapists who assist in designing specific programs for those with particular physical problems & qualified massage therapists who are available to smooth out any kinks before or after my Gym workouts.
Happy anonymous gym member:Apart from improving my fitness, the extra benefits have included new friendships with other members & plenty of laughs, meaning the programs at IBF are very good value for money. It’s a gem of an asset.
Happy Gym Member:
We joined up October last year and can't get enough of the place. Friendly helpful staff and welcoming environment. Especially enjoy the evening pump and boxer sessions.
Another great PT session with the fabulous Louise. Working around my injuries has not been an issue with Louise and I feel like I've accomplished something after each session. #Thankyou #girlcrush
Personal Training Transformation:
Please say hello to the lovely Alicia, who recently turned 25 and has been seeing Karen Newton, one of our Personal Trainers for approximately 1 year. Although in her words she "honestly didn’t start taking the whole ‘working out and eating right’ seriously until this year."
Alicia started by seeing Karen twice per week but is now in a regular program and sees Karen once per week as well as working out herself.
Thanks for sharing your story Alicia and allowing us to share it with our clients!!
A little bit about Alicia:
"I played netball throughout my school years, plus a couple of years after. Had to stop playing due to my shoulder muscle tightening whenever I throw the ball. Only real exercise after that was walking the dog."
"My eating habits were poor until recently. I used to skip breakfast and sometimes have a snack or takeaway for dinner, or nothing at all. In recent months I have started having breakfast and down sized my portions for lunch and dinner. Plus I’ve opted for more healthy meals."
What made you decide to choose personal training and following a program as opposed to just joining the gym?
"At the start I knew that if there was someone expecting me to turn up I would actually go, as opposed to making excuse to not go. Also I had never been to the gym before so having a PT was a way for me to learn about the equipment."
When did you start noticing a difference in yourself?
"About a month and a half after first starting I noticed a huge improvement in my posture, so did my friends and family. But weight and muscle wasn’t until June this year. Like I mentioned on Q2, I only really started taking my work outs and eating habits seriously earlier this year."
How do you feel personal training has helped (as opposed to working out by yourself)?
"Motivation. I do attend the gym outside of my PT sessions but feel I sometimes don’t put in enough effort. Plus ensuring I have the right technique and my posture is right – considering my posture was crap before I started going to the gym it is now a priority that I keep a good posture."
What other benefits do you think have come from having a personal trainer?
"For a newbie to the gym it was a great way to learn about the equipment and what I could handle. For me it’s also great to have someone keeping record of what I could (or couldn’t do) when I first started compared to what I can do now."
Any advice for others....?
"DO IT! But do it because you love your body, not because you hate it. You wont be devastated that you don’t have a flat tummy after the first session then."
Natural Movement 1/2 day workshop:"It was such a great workshop and a fun morning. It was interesting to realise just how differently we move now, as opposed to when we were children. Movement was so natural back then. I really loved the balance beams and the monkey bars, and enjoyed the other activities as well. I have since attended an open group session of Natural Movement. I am looking forward to challenging myself in my ability to improve and re-learn the movements that came so easily as a child. One of my goals would be to swing on the monkey bars going forward. I am blitzing the sideways swing and getting stronger with that. I remember that being one of my favourite pass times at school. lol I love the program so much that I have begun to use the monkey bars at school to get stronger at it. The other benefit of playing at school on the monkey bars is that I can watch the kids to learn how to do the moves as well. lol. Needless to say I have managed to get myself some blisters."
Yoga:Thank you Karen for yet another awesome Yoga session, just what I needed today. 19/5/2016
Personal Training:I would like to say a huge thank you to Crystal at In Balance Fitness, without your, help, guidance and keeping me motivated I wouldn't have been able to lose the 21cm all over I have in the last months. I highly recommend anyone wanting to lose weight and get fit, in a fun and friendly environment, to give In Balance Fitness a go! 6/6/2104
Therapists:I'm glad I made the choice to go here, I've had a few health issues with my body of late and Alex and the girls have gone out of their way to help, and they have all been so great to me, thank you. 30/9/2015
Morning Circuit Class:I love the crew that go to the early morning circuit, we have the best time. We have lots of fun exercising together and getting fit. The group is a welcoming, friendly and funny bunch of people who often pull pranks on the instructors. Oops!!! Who said that? lol Fabulous staff who put us through our paces, give us new and exciting exercises to try and encourage us to keep going. If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you. Thanks guys!! You're awesome. 16/12/2016
Circuit Training & Pilates:This place is amazing. I've arrived all the way from Qld Gold Coast to experience these wonderful life changing moments. I completed the circuit session with a sense of accomplishment and the instructor was motivating funny and ran a well sequenced class, hitting all muscle groups and elevated my heart rate with some huffy puffy exercises WHEW!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this class. So much so I then went next door for Pilates.....that was harder than circuits. Nah, it was fabulous. Another amazing instructor to enhance my mobility and agility. This place rocks. I encourage you to be part of this amazing club and fulfil your health and fitness goals. I'm leaving soon as my times nearly up, but will be doing more classes before I head back to Gold Coast. Thank you In Balance Physio & Fitness for making my time here in Northam memorable. 27/4/2017
Pilates & Creche:Almost pain free for the first time in over 20 years! Lauren is amazing and helped me find some easy, small things I could do at home, between appointments, that weren't overwhelming and didn't take too long. She also introduced me to Pilates which has made a huge difference in my whole body strength, agility and mental well being. My daughter goes to the crèche and plays for an hour while I get to relax and enjoy my Pilates Class. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The direct billing to HBF and Vet Affairs also makes life a lot easier. Totally changed my life. I look forward to it every week. 30/5/2017
